 welcome back for math this week we had to do 2 hard multiplication and division word problems and get a buddy to answer them for us 

sports poem

 hi for writing we had to make a poem and i did a line poem and wrote about my sports day game that was a challenge. 

Sports poem 

A cold and rainy winter morning 

I awoke and flung the sportswear

The saturdays are the highlight

The way to nunweek is stressful 

The thoughts filled my mind 

My stomach coming up in waves while thinking about a big team to verse

My hope was big 

Until i saw the opposing team, they looked promising 

Walking onto the field brought excitement 

Our game plan was real 

Our team warming up  

The whistle calling for the captain

Did we get the ball? 

We got into our positions 

The high pitched air sound of the whistle blew

The sticks smacking on one and other 

The fast bang of the ball 

“Bam” the first 5 minutes a goal was scored!

Rain fell instantly  on our skin 

Red rash from the wind 

We were turning into ice.

10 minutes before half time was over “bam” the backboard clapped 

2 goals were shot

Running up the opposing team scored 

2-2 at half time 

Our coach telling us to up our game 

The water swooshing down my throat 

I hope I don’t look lame

The refs hi viz jacket was bright 

We chanted our chant and walked back on 

The crowd cheering gave me a small a fright

The squeaky whistle went off 

P.cs, long corners, sideline, 16s were done 

The ball received and striked in the goal

Bang of the backboard

Clap of the crowd

The timer buzzed as we were soaked 

Our smiles were so big, we were so proud...

We said well done to the opposing team 

The gummy snakes were better than ever

As we walked out parents said well done 

We were happy

and thats it

 hi for maths we had to make a chart of something that we could do and then graph it. i did mine on how much cartwheels i could do in one minute.

 hi for reading since we are in lock down we had to write something or make a video about something we enjoy doing.

ratio and rate

 for maths we did ratio and rate. our goal was use multiplication and division strategies to solve simple equivalent ratio and rate problems. we had to answer 4 questions two of rate and two of ratio and then we had to pick two questions and put them on a slide and explain our strategy on how we solved it.

emotional literacy

 hello welcome back to my blog  for term 3. today we have been learning about emotional literacy. 

what is emotional literacy

- sharing and expressing your emotions      

- know and identify your emotions

- know and recognise how others are feeling 

- know and learn how to deal with your emotions

- boosting yourself esteem. 

we had this package filled with words and we had to separate many words into different groups. one side was called present and unpleasantness. i found this really challenging but a new experience for me to learn. 

we then had to write down some the things that make us happy or annoy us.

 this week for Maori we had to draw a google drawing of what a matariki star means. I chose the star waita it means the ocean and the food in the ocean.

My turangawaewae

 For writing this week we have to write more than 70 words and less than 100. I wrote around 80 words, i explained about my turangawaewae. I decided to write about Chile because thats where my brother and mum was bored, but i was born in new Zealand, i go to visit all my family as often as i can. a turangawaewae is like your home so a place where you can stand

 for reading this week we had to make something that we would like to have in Christchurch. Me and Lucas worked on it together and we came up with a shelter or evacuation centre but we think that it should be permanent in the community.

 this week for writing we had to make an article about something that has happened somewhere in Christchurch or at school. I wrote about what the cathedral church and the Christchurch city library was like before and after the 2011 earthquake in Christchurch and how they are now.

 Hi welcome back to my blog. For this week our maths task was to come up with a question but it had to do something with our turangawaewae which is our place to stand, once we had our question we had to go and ask our peers what or how much they knew about something or about what they would know.  For our math task this week we had to go to google my maps and find kaipoi pa and onawe pa and try find the most direct route and the fastest way to go on water and land.
